Got My Car Back From It's Respray

Post by Ben93 »

Hey, got my car back today after it has had it's respray. Took some pictures once i was back from college of it back home in the garage. Have the day off college tomorrow and plan to start putting everything back together.

Looks a good paint job from here, but even more impressive is the size and contents of your garage :D

wow - they've done a lovely job!
so did they spray with the wings on, then? - what's the general consensus on that? - i might do mine separately, especially rear wings to preserve the piping - not sure about the front though.
any advise welcomed

love the garage, btw :D

Thanks everyone :) the car is old English White and when it was resprayed the rear wings were removed. The contents of the garage is all to do with my grandfather he has quite a few projects going on at the minute. just going out now to start the process of fitting everything back together without scratching the paint :)

you say the rear wings were removed; i assume, then the fronts were fitted?
what sealant did you use on the front wings?

If new panels are being used then you want something much better than the black rubbish they come with on both sides.
Otherwise they wont stay new very long :( .

thats a showroom dude,
maybe we should start a thread about seeing everybody's workshop/garage, see how good they look (or not look) and where there pride and joy actually lives.

Superb!

Jealous and envious in one!

Without sounding too rude, how much did the respray cost?
and who did it - give them praise.

Nice workshop too!

The front wings were left on as they were fine and did not need replacing. The rear wings and other new panels had the black stuff stripped off before they were painted. The garage isn't heated as such but there are two or three heaters in there to take the chill out of the air when working in the evenings or in the winter. The chap that did the respray is called Chris he works in the local garage, the chap he works for that owns the garage Wayne restores mustang's. don't know how much the respray cost as my grandfather payed for it as a present I can find out though when I next see him :)

A great present and well done. You'll be proud of her when she's finished.

jealousy. much jealousy. my car and garage are both much scabbier than that =[ and the garage is a concrete spider invested freezer with a hulking old granada in it, which i found out today wont budge an inch! bl**dy brakes.

so i have to ask, what else is lurking in there???

I will say that it is my one of my favourite places to be. I can hide out there and just tinker on the cars (there's always something to do) radio on and no one to bother me :) has to be the best use of an old cow shed I have ever seen :D
