Mini & Morris Minor bosses

Post by Edward92 »

Are Mini & Morris Minor steering racks similar? As I've seen them advertised for and recommend to Minor owners seeking aftermarket steering wheels, can anyone confirm this, in which case would this fit? >

The racks are not similar in any way, however the splines on the boss are probably the same, the minor and austin princess certainly share the same spline count

Yes Minor and Mini steering wheels have identical splines and are interchangeable - had a wheel I used on a Moggy, MGB, Marina, Riley Elf and Mini Clubman before it fell to bits (the wheel, not the clubman!)

SOME mini's have the same spline as a minor, but not all.

Most minor parts suppliers will do Mountney wheels and bosses that WILL fit a minor.

I've got one, it's lovely :)

Are the Mini steering wheels that would fit the Minor the same diameter wheel or can you get smaller?

I love the look and size of my original steering wheel but can't turn it fast enough and am probably going to go back to my Mountney. An original-looking but smaller diameter wheel could be a good compromise
