Clutch relay housing
So I was a just adjusting my clutch; and when I tested it, this happened:

I've ordered a new housing and brush, but what I want to know is do I have to dismantle the whole assembly, or can I just remove the old housing and slip the new one on?

from memory there's enough room to slide the rod away from the chassis or gearbox and fit the new housing ,just enough room to get it in.without taking the other end off.

I think Kennatt is right but I'd strongly suggest replacing the bush in the other side too while you have it off the car.

It's not a huge job to overhaul the whole set up in this area. And this may well be the problem in the 'oddbod' thread too - but we don't get any feedback .......

Thanks every one, that's what I wanted to hear.
Unfortunately, I've already ordered the parts and need this done by Saturday really, so the gearbox side brush won't come in time, I wouldn't have thought.But if it's an easy job, as you say, I'm sure I'll be able to replace the gearbox side soon.

The two levers should be welded to the shaft in fixed positions - it's not unknown for one of them to come adrift.

Thanks for the picture Onion, its kinda helping identify a problem I'm having. I think my shaft is fitted correctly, just not fixed to the chassis as the housing isn't fixed on mine

Just thought I'd update, I've replaced the chassis side housing and brush, and all is once again good with Trudy.
It really was as easy as everyone said (other than taking quite a while, and some exotic language, to line up the holes in the housing; the spacer; and the chassis)
