Hogwart 1953 2 door

Post by ben_minor_63 »

Hi all. Thought to show you all my new investment. a 1953 2 door. It has 67,000 from new and im the 3rd owner. It has been based at Eastbourne all its life. I am aiming to keep it how it is. But with upgrades of a hidden stereo and cigarette lighter. What do you all think?

Hi,
Really nice car, great period charm.
I really want a split screen myself but the house move must take priority............. God it's so boring being sensible....................
If you want to keep it period but use it regularly, with a few concealed 'extras' you may want to consider a Dynalite Alternator, they have the charging capacity of an alternator but look just like the Dynamo you'd be replacing, thus retaining the look of the engine bay. I believe they come in a range of types so you should be able to find one to match size wise as well. See link below.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Or you could just get an ordinary alternator (cheaper) and keep the original dynamo so if you want to show the car, you can just swap them.

Very nice. The dealer sticker - or rather its remains - is a rarity.

Buy a Zippo lighter.

Super car - here's a link to Caffyns and on their page they have a downloadable pdf on their history. Why not take it back to them and see if they will give it a free service for the publicity - given that 2013 is Morris centenary year - you never know they might like to do something with you and the car

Ill get a picture up here soon, but my series 2 55' has an actual badge on the inside of the door from the garage where it was originally sold :D Much like your sticker. I would suggest maybe coating it with some sort of varnish. That way the sticker wont decay any more.

Which garage sold the car?

Do you. Did you remember the rover p4 they had which we own. We are friends with the owner. Would be nice to have some more pictures of Hogwart as I know the owner has some but hasn't time to sort them out atm. We have a lot of history on it but would be nice to know a bit more
