Traveller rear window locking..

Post by bloodyank »

Can someone post pics of the proper rear sliding window locks? I'm fitting the nearside, and I've put two of the hinged thingies there, but for the offside, I only have one, for the back, but the front has a sliding latch on the window itself, but what sort of reciever does it go in to?

Thanks-

Dave

My 67 has a long steel channel with a slot for the sliding lock on both fronts, the rears have a small bracket that the slide goes into. I guess you need one more of the small brackets. Pictures show window open and closed. :) [frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]

The design changed over the years, later cars as shown above, earlier cars with the flip over hinged thing. What year is your car? You could also consider the type of key operated lock used on sliding glass doors of shop cabinets.

New thing learned today for me ! I didn't know there are two types - mine are the flip up hinged brackets - which all too easily flip down again....... Useless! My Trav is 64.

Thanks for the pic.. I do have one of those and I didn't know what it was!! It's a rusty mess though. I'll sand it back to bare metal and paint.
Funny... as I said my nearside has the flip down lock and offside has the sliding lock!

glad to help. My slide lock/handle is the same on all four sliding windows. I think Moss Europe sells it as part # AFA881 etc. left and right handed but indicates it's for fronts. works nice on fronts and rears for my 67.
