coil

Post by namass1 »

How can \I check if my coil is up to scratch? I have no spark at the points or plugs. The king lead is fine and if I touch across the coil tabs with a screwdriver there is a strong spark. Please help. I want my Mary on the road this summer.

You need to understand - it's NEVER the coil! Sounds like it's ok, but to check properly you need a multimeter.
Although obviously not 'the best' this is fine for car work !

Have you replaced the points? If so you may have put the low tension or condensor leads back on incorrectly and they could be shorting out.
