Hi everone
Can anyone recommend a product to get rust off paintwork and chrome and then offer some protection.
I have a 1971 Morris Traveller and the chrome bumpers are showing rust spots and the metal grill is showing quite a lot of rust so I need to sand down to bare metal and repaint. I will then need something to protect against the rust reappearing.
Thanks
John Earl

Re: Surface Rust
for the paint use a cutting compound, something like G3, on the chrome use a metal polish, then protect both with a good wax polish and regularly re-apply.
If it is the painted parts of the grille you need to remove all the rust (sand blasting works really well on fiddly parts like this ) prime with a good quality primer then topcoat
Kevin.

Try aluminium foil on the the chrome. Screw it up and wet it.
