passenger side foot well hole series 2
Here is one for you Phil. What is the reason for a rather large hole in the passenger side foot well that has two smaller holes adjacent to it. Nothing matches on the driver side, so its not for LHD, or is it? What is it for? (hope Im not embarrassed by the answer) LHD dipper switch?

Depends where the hole is in the footwell. Guesses would be access to steering rack lubrication or, as you say, fitment for LHD dipswitch which IIRC was attached to some kind of bracket and mounted up by the nearside wheelarch panel.

There are lots of holes in Minors, some original, some added later. Could we have a photo of the area please.

I am a tad cut and paste illiterate, but I will eventually find a kind person to do the shot on the hole. Interest only, its a different shape to the dipswitch hole profile but the two smaller holes are the same distance apart, so whether the Yanks had different switches, could be for anything add on, like a driving instructors emergency brake, even.

If it’s a hole in the heel area then it is indeed for the dip switch. The switch on LHD cars fit flush with the floor, on RHD cars the switch is mounted on a plinth, well it is on mine earlier cars may be different.
