It's on a SORN. It's registered as a 948cc, not a 1275. Quite a recent V5C issued, so perhaps not been in the yard so long.
But perhaps you've been online already...... however I thought I'd put this up, because some else will otherwise....

Looks like the last MOT expired on 15 June 2018, but I suppose it would be MOT exempt and could still have been in use after that date. Why is it in the breakers yard? Accident damage, corrosion? I'm sure I recall seeing pictures of this car a while ago and it looked like a tidy example.

Hi,
Far too nice to be scrapped!
Hopefully someone will extract her once lockdown is done with.
Unless she belongs to the scrapyard owner of course and is not for scrap at all??
Not sure about the colour scheme.............
Reminds me of Riley RM's, which it suits......
Still each to their own.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Certainly looks too good to scrap / break IMO, if that's why it's there. The paintwork could probably do with a bit of polish or t-cut. Hopefully someone already has or will give it a good home.
It's quite distinctive with the two-tone paint and sunroof. Thought I'd seen it somewhere and I've managed to find it on MMOC Isle of Wight branch news from 5 December 2011. That's a while ago but it had some history on display with it back then and was a bit more polished!

Found it. It's listed in the 'Campervans & Motorhomes' section for some reason. Seller does state it has loads of history with it apparently. The engine's in the usual storage position... passenger footwell Certainly looks like a 1275 unit.

Re: 783 BBX ,1275 ,4-door Black and brown.1962.
Nothing that a few weekends work wouldn't sort out...........................
The worst thing about it is that tacky and inevitably leaking sunroof............
Might be hard to patch?? Has anyone on here ever taken one out and put the metal back in?
A Webasto might be a good alternative.
The big problem with cars for sale at present is we are unable to go and view them.....
Best wishes,
Mike.

I notice also, the gearbox appears to be missing, which may be a Marina unit to match the engine.
I assume there was some problem with either the engine or gearbox/clutch, for them to have been removed...

I fitted one in my Plus2 and it was water tight , light and added rigidity to the fibreglass roof ...
" Certainly looks like a 1275 unit. " , exactly what I thought....

P.S. The engine has been sold. ;-)

Ah well, fit a 1098 engine, gearbox, prop and then back on the road
Each to their own with the sunroof. A Webasto may a more period modification as an alternative. I had a similar glass sunroof on an 80's car that didn't leak, but then it wasn't 30 years old back then. Never tried filling one in but I suspect it would be time consuming to make such a repair invisible. Personally I'd probably leave it if it doesn't leak.

Re: 783 BBX ,1275 ,4-door Black and brown.1962.
As you say each to their own.
I have heard that this aftermarket type can (and did in many cases) leak like a sieve but then that may be also down to how they're fitted (plenty of mastic required maybe).
For me though, a nice shiny coat of gloss black and a period Webasto.
Ahhhh, country lanes and sunny days..................
I'm not surprised they sold the 1275 separately, a very desirable mod for many.
Given how rare they are, it would be nice if it was going back into a Marina but, I suspect, that's unlikely.
Would be ironic if it ends up in another Minor!
So, as above, the simplest route back to the road would be a good working 1098, with associated gearbox and propshaft.
Like I said, the biggest issue at present is that no-one outside the county it's in can go and view it.
For anyone interested it's in Hailsham, East Sussex.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Haha, seller says he doesn't know much about the car, probably why it's listed as manufacturer 'Volkswagen' then...
According to the DVLA, it was 948cc, so must have been one of the last before they stuck 1098s in them.

Hi all
My first post!
I bought this and I am currently working towards getting her on the road
The sunroof does appear to leak, taped up with gaffer tape for time being to see if that stops leak, as a prelude to trying to reseal or find a new seal
Wants lots of welding underneath, but looks a lot better for a polish!
Hoping to be on road this year for all the shows after lockdown
