Blowy exhaust

Post by markthe45king »

I noticed we have sounded a little more blowy than usual and had a clamber under the car as much as I could on a wet drive
The join where the rear of the fat bit of the exhaust goes into narrower pipe seems to be blowing air out. When the exhaust is cold, the join seems good, though a bit uneven, which could be the leak? Is my best solution fire putty or some other exhaust sealant?

Try a smear of Holts Gun Gum repair paste on the joint, failing that it will need to be welded up or the section replaced. :D

' fat bit' and ' narrower pipe ' ??? Where exactly ? If it is manifold/pipe join - it's covered over and over again ad nauseum throughout the forum... I suggest the 'search' facility will help....
