Hi,
When taking the wings off of our rotten traveller the closing panel that goes between the B-pillar and the rear wing under the wood just dropped off and looked like it had only been held on with screws. Is this correct? Given that the rear wings were nailed on in some places and holes in the inner wings have been sealed with plastic bags (nothing else, just plastic bags) I'm not sure I can rely on the way past repairs have been done as a guide
Thanks,
Philip

Traveller closing panel
Philip, Lynda and the cars.
Re: Traveller closing panel
The little cover plate on the underside of the timber is just that - a cover plate to protect the timber, and yes just held on with screws.
Re: Traveller closing panel
Thats right its just screwed on to cover the gap between the boxing panel extension and the timber.
This is what the area should look like with the timber and plate removed

Re: Traveller closing panel
That's brilliant, thanks Taupe for the picture . When the wood goes on does t sit on the little ledge that's visible between the B post and inner wing?

No the bottom rail of the timber isnt fixed to the body at all.. theres a gap which is covered underneath with the screwed on panel.
The nearest fixings are the screws into the B post and the small woodscrews around the rear wheelarch starting above the top of the boxing panel extension.
