poly bushes, rear suspension

Post by davidmiles »

Hi all, after re-reading all the advisories to my last MOT, the rear bushes were in for criticism, so I decided to go POLY. To get right to the point, there are two different rear shackle poly bushes, red and blue, anyone know which way around they go.[frame]Image[/frame]

I assume it matters because they are different dimensions.. the outer flange is wider on the reds, so the blues have a longer shank. Any advice would be appreciated.

Who sold you them? Normally colour indicates different 'shore hardness' levels... Perhaps the shorter ones are intended for the rear damper arm link? (or perhaps the other way round.... ). If you butt them together in a spring eye - do both colours meet in the middle?

Hi Roy, thanks for you quick reply, I've tried them on the old shackle pin and they are the right length[frame]Image[/frame]

Yes - well the Pup front spring mount is larger. I wouldn't mix the colours on the same pin - so put the blues on the spring - and the red in the shackle/chassis mount.
