original roof light switch??
Hi guys, I'm building a replica roof box following the instructions on here from pskipper for 1 of my met pandas. The box is built and perspex is cut to size but I wanted 2 ask does anyone know where the switch to power it on was originally located and how have other people wired them up to their cars. Or is there another way? Any feedback greatly appreciated
Re: original roof light switch??
The problem is that every force and even garage did things differently. I have verbal info direct from retired officers that the roof box light was wired to the side light circuit and there was no separate switch. This lead to officers cutting the wire when they wanted to be less conspicuous. Those boxes with separate stop sign and/or blue light would have had additional switches, but mounting places varied.

That's great thanks. I know it's only for show but if there was a proper location I'd have liked to have stuck with it. I'll work something out
