Any advice about finding someone to restore my morris

Post by heaths »

Hi
I am finally in a position to start using my 1961 convertible again. She has been laid up and garaged for the last 10 years so will need some TLC. Gearbox and engine were reconditioned just before she was laid up - door panels will need some attention but new floor and sills already done. Can anyone suggest someone who would be interested in taking on this restoration for me in the Gloucestershire/Worcestershire area? Struggling to find a local garage I can trust !!! Many thanks :)

I think your first step might be to contact your local club and ask for their opinions.

Hi there
I used a Morris Minor specialist for work on my traveller when I first got it, they did a great job and they were really nice the only down side I found which can always happen, the quote was about £600 / £700...
I paid £ 1300 I still don't feel I was ripped off .. just a bit of a shock..and I still use them 10 years on.
Hope this helps.
Brian....
PS. So see if they will do a fixed price..
this garage is to far from you...I would start with our local club.

Hi Folks

Thanks for the replies local club was my first thought - Problem is I have looked on the glos owners club site and can't find any specific contact details. May try to get along to one of their meetings and speak face to face with someone. Can't wait to get her back on the road again :)
