2door complete roof replacement ( Has anyone done this)

Hi I'm contemplating replacing the entire roof on my 2 door saloon and wondered if anyone else has done this ,cheers guys

Done it on a Ford Pop. Although technically it was a roof chop.

The main issue is brace the shell thoroughly by welding in temporary cross braces. Triangles are good for maintaining shape. Then add more braces!

I thought the Pop was very well braced, but got a bit of twist and it was murder to correct.

(Why are you replacing the roof? I would have thought that was the last thing to rust away.)

I've cut plenty of roofs off when making convertibles. Even without the convertible stiffening they rarely move more than a mm or so when the final cut is made. Best to brace the door gaps first, and poss across the car between the B posts to be sure.
