Hello everyone
The grill on my 1971 Traveller has suddenly started to show rust coming through so I intend to rub it down to bare metal, prime and respray it. Can anyone recommend a reliable rust prevention product to apply to the bare metal please?
With regard to the underside will waxoiling help prevent against rust and road salt as I use the car through the winter?
Any replies would be appreciated

Re: rust prevention products
Waxoil will definitely help with preventing rust but needs to be replenished every year .

Hello Budgie
Thanks for that . As you probably realize I am fairly new to classic car ownership so forgive my naive question but what time of year would you recommend - late summer?
The car was already waxoiled underneath when I bought it about 7 months ago so it is probably OK at the moment.
Regards

I tend to do it in the summer purely because it's warmer and the heat from the sun, when we get it, keeps the waxoil , if that's what you decide to use, more fluid and easier to apply.
