Leaky coreplugs

Leaky coreplugs arghh

What's the best way to fitt core plugs!!!
Tapped them in but there leaking and now the engine is in the car

Should I refitt with a sealant???

The seat needs to be perfectly clean and without any pitting - new plug will need to be HAMMERED in - not tapped in - to collapse the dome shape. A sliver of sealant would be sensible - but do wipe away the excess after the plug is in.

use a socket when hammering them in.
