Re: What Engine do I have

Thank you for the quick responses, I did think it was a Marina as the running gear has all be changed to Marina(disk/back axle), but just wanted to be sure.

I can now do the service before I take it for its MOT on the 9 May

Thanks again

New 4 Door Saloon joins Traveller

We have purchased a 1962 4 door saloon, this will join my 1966 Traveller. The Saloon is for my wife to drive and as she has only drive automatic since 1980, she wants the Saloon converted to Automatic. .. Re: Fuel Pump contact?

I think you will find the description you need in Section B4 To Dismantle and Reassemble the Petrol Pump and Section B5 Resetting the Diaphragm for contact breaker 'throw-over'

These are the section I used to change the points on my pump

Hope this helps

Re: Seat Belt Upper Mount

If you have a workshop manual I think its covered in Section R34/35 (not got manual with me) you should have triangular plate fitted under the rear side windows for the top fixing.

If you need a manual, you can get a pdf version from the internet

hope this helps

Re: BHP for 948 and 1275A+

Thanks Richard. I have now updated my insurance from 1 car/1 person, adding the new car and the wife, so now a 2 car/2 person policy for additional cost of £38. I was not asked for BHP on the second call, so FJ not consistent on what they require. I will fully check out all insurance companies at ne...

Re: BHP for 948 and 1275A+

Thanks for update, much appreciated

The car does have disc brakes and telescopic shocks and this was indicated, but BHP was also requested.
I am adding this car to the insurance for my Traveller currently with FJ.

Thanks again for information

Re: minor birthday

I have a Certified Copy of Factory Record that I purchased (£50+vat and postage)from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust and this gives - Date of Build and Date of Dispatch. The V5 should give the date of first registration.

These should be close enough to determine the birth.

Re: bonnet insulation mat

I have the same kit from ESM, not yet fitted and I had instructions in the pack with the glue. They recommend you remove the bonnet, clean and remove grease. Apply glue evenly around the edges and the centre of the felt and the corresponding area on the bonnet. Ally to dry for at least 24 hours befo...

Re: I'm getting cold...

Back in early 2013, I changed my windscreen washer to electric and had to change the wiper switch. If memory serves, the heater motor was using the earth on the back of the wiper switch (as indicted above). Cannot remember how I wired the heater earth with the new switch. So if you have the same sor...

Re: Air compressor

The connector on the hose and the connectors in the kits you list above I belive are PCL Standard Adaptors (Screwfix 5763H).. If they do not fit the compressor, it could have the connector PCL XF Adaptor (Scewfix 2015H). If all the tools fit to the hose, (same type connectors) you would only need to...
